Adult Christian Ed Blog

St. John's Study Group Notes

www.sjuccnotes.blogspot.com is an excellent website that covers what is discussed in Adult Ed and it is open to everyone. This blog was started by Jo Bertier who was encouraged to share by several in the Adult Study Group. Please check out the posts and contribute if you choose!

LOGOS: Wednesdays 4:30—7:15pm

March 3—"Spuds 'n Suds Night"

LOGOS (meaning the Word) is our after school mid-week program children and youth in grades 1–12. The program runs from September through April. Through the four parts of LOGOS (Bible Study, Worship Skills, Recreation and Family Time) kids and adults alike grow in faith and develop long lasting relationships with Christ and each other!

Remember . . . LOGOS is open to children outside our congregation too! So invite a friend to join us for LOGOS each Wednesday!

Board of Religious Organizations

Annual Toy Drive

St. John's is once again collecting gently loved toys, puzzles and games for the Board of Religious Organization's annual toy drive. These toys will be refurbished and donated to needy children through Neighborhood Houses and other outreach programs. If you have items you would like to donate, please bring them to the
church for collection.

There is another opportunity to help those in need through BRO this winter or any time of the year. BRO provides infant layettes through the many social service agencies in our area for mothers of newborns who are in great need. If you would like to donate items to include in a layette (or several) we will package and deliver them to BRO. Crocheted, knitted, or flannel items are welcome. (If you would like a pattern to sew baby items one is available from Arland Stemme.) Baby quilts, receiving blankets, sweaters, sleepers, hats, booties, onezies and diapers are included in each layette. As always you may leave items on the tables outside of the gym.

For more information contact Pat Mueller, Arland Stemme, or Polly Rutherford.

Tell Us Your Story

Share Your Church Experience

The Stewardship Committee is looking for "impact" statements from St. John's congregation members! Tell us how our church has positively impacted you and/or your family's friends and visitors. Your statement can reflect anything from a single moment or an extended period in your life with St. John's!

We can relate your church "experience" through either the Olive Branch newsletter or as a stewardship message during Sunday service. We can even do it anonymously!

If you have a message to share, please contact one of our committee members: Lyle Brizendine, Larry Krumrey, Pam Manning, Warren Stemme, or you could mention it to Pastor Dale! You could also send a short email to Charlie in the church office.

Thanks for your contributions! We need your help to tell our story!
